The pearls are perfectly matched, have a smooth surface, and a black treated body color. Each pearl is individually knotted on twin silk and finished with a solid 14 karat gold clasp. As black is not a naturally occurring color in freshwater pearls, the pearls have been treated with a permanent organic dye to achieve their dark coloration.
