Phyllis paints about a time long ago where people of different cultural backgrounds travelled on their horses and camels through Gija country - Phyllis says that these were the gardiya (white people) and Afghan people

ancestral women danced at Mina Mina and ‘karlangu’ (digging sticks) rose up out of the ground

whose name in Alyawarr is anemangkerr (pronounced similarly to numun-gurra)

These are bush fruits, body paint, ceremonies, dancing lines and their homeland Atnwengerrp, a region of Utopia, some 250 km north west of Alice Springs in Central Australia. In their paintings, Minnie, Molly, Emily and Galya draw on the same dreamings.
