With oval porcelain tag on top of the varnished box. With polished brasses including carry handle, hooks, side light, hinge, etc. The compass is by E. S. Ritchie of Boston with serial number 23518 which dates it to the nineteenth century. The compass is also highly polished. Quality relic. Weight: 8 lbs.
